Saying Goodbye

While futzing with some items from my layout during a lunch break I inadvertently deleted Creating the Godcomplex. Since I've been toying with the idea of eliminating my need to blog and the stress that it has created with my studies (i.e. I spend too much time writing and checking out what people have commented to actually study well) I deicded that this was fate intervening and I should stop now. It is time.

So, my friends, I have decided to terminate this blog. Some might wonder if I'm being forced to or have concerns about being forced out of blogging, but these are completely false. I might consider returning to the blogosphere in the future, but for now this is what needs to be done.

I look forward to continuing to read my favs.

***Oh, I will be entering Anesthesiology, not Surgery for those who feel cheated by not knowing what my final decision for residency was. I love my family too much to hope we can make it through the rigors of a Surgical residency - I just don't think we'd make it through to be fully honest. If I were single I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Well MSG, I'm sorry to see your blog go but I am happy for your decision to pursue anesthesia. It was the BEST decision that my husband made and believe me that your family will thank you too. So best of luck to you and your future.

I'm also sorry to see you go. But I'm happy that you've made a decision that both you and your family can live with.

(And I hear ya... if I were willing to devote my life to medicine, I probably still would have gone into plastics and specialized in reconstructive surgery. Instead, I'm very happy with emergency medicine!)

Hope to see you commenting on my blog so that you don't disappear entirely!

Poo. Now I'm going to have to find some other blog to procrastinate on.

Good luck with anesthesia. I'm sure it will be a good fit for you.

Oh no. I'm actually very sad to see you go, and I will miss your posts.

Like Dr. Couz, I hope you'll comment on my blog too from time to time...

And good luck with anesthesia!!!

You can always come back! If you ever want to vent, make sure to do it on your blog so we can all share it =). But I'm glad about your decision. Anesthesia is an excellent field, and will allow you to have enough of a social life to be with your family.

I am going to miss you so much. I know it's selfish of me, but I am hoping this is just a break and you will reconsider and start blogging again. Best of luck to you.

Fair winds and following seas . . . I have enjoyed the commentary and content. Hopefully you'll remain in the South.

Best wishes

Dang, another brilliant mind leaves us. I'll miss reading your posts. It's people like you who help smooth out some of the rough edges of my fictional characters. Thanks for sharing and best of luck to you in your career.

Sorry to see you go, but I quite understand. Hope you might occasionally apprise us of your progress. If it weren't for having to deal with surgeons, I might have chosen anesthesia myself....

I'm a lurker but your post about the mother killing her child through drug usage was the best writing I have seen in quite a while. Very thought provoking, very human.

Anesthesiology is an amazing field. Wishing you and your family the best. I hope you are back to blogging some day down the road.

*long cinematic NOOOOOOO....*

This is scary cos I was thinking about the same things. That blogging interferes with studies, and that Surgery might take up too much of my life to do anything else.

I'm very sorry to see you go, mate. I really enjoyed your writing but didn't tell you as much as I should've done, and I didn't leave as many comments as I should've. Still, thanks for your comment on my blog. Here's another voice joining the chorus of supporters hoping you'll be back occasionally at least.
