Question Y'all

I've been toying with a few ideas for when residency begins as to what to do with this blog. I began it as a memoir of medical school and a place to vent frustrations during those times. I wish I still had my posts before the "delete" incident, but they're gone and there's nothing I can do about that - so let's not worry.

Instead what I've been pondering is whether to keep writing on this forum (since many of you have come to know MSG without the full name being spelled out) or keep it linked, but start anew - fresh and free from my monicker's shackles.

After all, I've several posts under the title of Medstudentgod and I honestly don't want to have an archive list a mile long dealing with med school and then residency. Perhaps it's time to get a new blog, to chronicle the next phase in my journey. Who knows.

So, I'm asking...should I keep writing on this forum, or start a new blog; a template that's clean from all the hate and bitterness that encompasses much of the posts herein. I've added a poll for the next couple weeks. Please let me know. I value your input.

Yeah i definitely think you should stick with the blogging (if you have any free time, that is, during intern yr). It's probably a good idea to switch to a new web address. (I do not recommend moving to WordPress, btw, it sucks!). We will follow you to your new home! :)

Also, i wanted to let you know, i miss your archives, too :(
I would be so crushed if my archives all got deleted. I try to back mine up to Word semi-frequently.

I'd vote for keep the same blog... cuz, well, that's what I did. That long archives list on the side bar... that's history, that's longevity, man.

I vote for same blog too. What's interesting for me about blogging is looking back and seeing how I've changed, and remembering what I used to think about a few years back.

The only reason I'd think about a new blog were if I wanted to go anonymous for some reason. This could be relevant to you with your new job. But then you'd REALLY have to go anonymous, and not just pseudoanon like E did. That would mean you'd have to start fresh AND not tell your old readers where your new blog was.

I think you should start a new blog since you'll be a resident, not a medstudent, but please dear god provide some way to connect the two so that we don't get lost!

Long time reader, first time poster. I would leave it as is. I am a huge fan of your blogs. Yours and Oldmdgirl. I check how your journey through med school is and I took the time to read all your blogs even from day one. So, yeah keep it as MSG. I'll know you'll be a doctor soon, but I like MSG.
Keep up the blogs,

MG

Hmm, this is a tough question! I would love to read about what you get up to when you start work, and think that continuity is a good thing. However, I can see how you would like a clean break.
Good luck with the decision!

Dear MSG,
If you could start a new blog but somehow connect it to the old one, that would be great. Whatever you decide to do, p l e a s e keep blogging!!!!

I think you start a new blog on the same account. So it is fresh, looks different (change the graphics) but still attached.
